Workshop di contact improvisation

Attraverso l’uso dei principi della contact improvisation e della “release technique” esploreremo le componenti che uniscono la contact alla danza contemporanea. Esploreremo, inoltre, la nostra relazione con lo spazio che ci circonda: che sia la terra, gli altri o noi stessi.Cercheremo di capire l’importanza della forza di gravità nella nostra relazione con la terra e l’importanza dei molteplici stati energetici che attraversiamo quando ci muoviamo. Lavoreremo in diversi strati dello spazio: verticale, orizzontale, in peso, fuori peso, spirali, “Flying high”, “flying low”, momentum, velocità, cadute. Ascolteremo i nostri sensi, la pelle, gli occhi, il semplice tocco per guidarci attraverso un spazio in movimento.
Lavoreremo da soli o con uno o più di un partner, e osserveremo le nostre abitudini, pronti a lasciare lo spazio per nuovi sviluppi nella nostra danza.

E' stato coinvolto nel mondo della danza per gli ultimi 25 anni e lavora attualmente come insegnante, choreografo e performer. Come freelance ha collaborato con tanti artisti americani e europeei.
Il suo percosso nella Contact improvisazione e l'improvisazione comincia 10 anni fa. E' stato invitato come insegnante e performer ai festival internazionali: Freiburg, Moscow, Zipfestival, Romacontact.
Nel 2007 inizia a collaborare con Charlie Morrissey e Adrian Russi formarno il trio "Moving Men". Questo incontro è basato sullo studio dell'improvvisazione come arte performativa attraverso lo sviluppo del trio nella CI.
Nella sua ricerca si è ispirato a grandi maestri come Kirstie Simson, Martin Keogh, Julyen Hamilton, K.J Holmes, Ray Chung.

MASS IN MOTION
This workshop we will be looking at our mass in motion, Flying high, flying low, rising and falling, rolling the point of contact, balance, counter balance, weight shifting, passing from stillness to movement. We will use momentum and weight as a catalyst for lifts, and pathways in which we can ride the momentum created by bodies and imagination in motion.
We will work alone and with a partner or partners and through the interaction with space, gravity, the ground and the tactile information that we get from the other bodies we shall begin to observe our tendencies and give space for new and fresh information to unfold within our dance.
We will explore ways in which we can tune ourselves and observe our experiences in action.
In this workshop we would like foremost to allow inquisitiveness and playfulness to be our main ingredients
Jean-Hugues is currently working as a teacher, choreographer and performer and has been involved in the dance community for the past 25 years. Jean-Hugues come from a traditional dance background, where he studied techniques such as Ballet, modern and contemporary dance. He’s worked as a freelance performer and choreographer and appeared in many dance productions mainly in Copenhagen and United states. Jean-Hugues’ journey within CI and Improvisation started 10 years ago. Since then Jean-hugues has been teaching in several European festivals, he is a member of Romacontact, Group based in Rome (italy) dedicated to development of CI within the Italian community (www.romacontact.com) and since 2007 he’s been collaborating and performing with Adrian Russi and Charlie Morrissey under the name of ‘Moving Men”. This collaboration is base on the study of trio within CI and improvisation as a performing art.
His work and views on CI have been inspired by great teachers such as Kirstie Simson, Martin Keogh, Julyen Hamilton, K.J Holmes, Ray Chung.
